When I'm in a pinch for time, I will typically grab some chicken breasts from the store and coat with my standard spice mixture. And while this serves a purpose, it gets kind of boring eating the same chicken week after week.
This recipe below as about as simple as they get and yet it provides a completely different flavor than my "standard". As I'm sitting here typing this out, I'm thinking this might taste good without the honey-vinegar mixture and I wish I would've left one alone. Perhaps I'll try that next time.

The end result is a tasty chicken breast with very little bite to it and I would consider taking the cayenne pepper up to a full tsp next time around.
Sweet & Spicy Chicken
- one pound of boneless chicken breasts - two tsp garlic powder - two tsp chili powder - one tsp ground cumin - one tsp paprika - 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper - three tbsp honey - one tbsp vinegar
Preheat oven to broil.
In a small bowl, combine honey and vinegar.
Combine garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Rub chicken breasts with spice mixture and place in a greased baking dish. Broil each side for 5 minutes. Remove chicken and coat one side of breasts with half of the honey-vinegar mixture and broil for one minute. Remove chicken and turn over. Coat chicken with remaining honey-vinegar mixture and broil for one minute.
