I am truly a creature of habit to the point of insanity but yesterday I decided I didn't want to have my standard oatmeal for breakfast. I've been eating the same combination for months now but for some reason I wanted to try something different so I decided to hunt on the web for ideas.
After searching around for a few minutes, I came across a recipe which included peanut butter and jelly. It sounds weird and I dismissed it immediately. After searching around for a few more minutes, I couldn't find anything else so I decided to give it a shot.

I wasn't prepared so all I had available was almond butter and strawberry preserves but I thought... what the heck... let's give it a shot. I've had it two days in a row now and I think my old oatmeal recipe has been replaced. I LIKE IT!
It really doesn't get any easier than this...
PB and J Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup slow cook oats - one cup of water - one tbsp peanut or almond butter - one tbsp strawberry (or whatever fruit you like) preserves
Combine oats and water in a medium bowl and microwave for three minutes. Stir in nut butter and preserves. Eat.
That's it. Probably the easiest recipe on this site.
